Lecture Descriptions

LECTURE DESCRIPTIONS

We have a variety of different presentations and would be more than happy to discuss which one might be right for your type of venue.   Our 2010 lecture schedule include:

Ghost Hunting 101
Learn about what we do. We’ll bring our investigative equipment for you to try out, share digital and audio evidence we’ve collected, and discuss personal experiences. Bring your photos for us to analyze.

The Ghosts and Legends of Long Island
There are many public places here on Long Island that have numerous claims of paranormal experiences! We’ll discuss Raynham Hall, Mount Misery, Sweet Hollow Road, Old Bethpage Village, The Caleb Smith House and other local sites, and play sound clips of ghostly voices captured on audio.

Voices of the Dead?  New!

What is Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP)? How does one go about doing it?  Join us as we explore the history of EVP, play some audio clips of what we’ve caught and what others before us have caught.  The audience is encouraged to bring their own audio recorders for an interactive learning session on recording and analyzing EVPs.

The Long Island Witch Trial
It might surprise you to hear that Long Island had witch trials long before the famous ones in Salem took place. Elizabeth Blanchard Garlick was the first woman to be tried for witchcraft on Long Island.  Was she convicted? Who came to her rescue? Spend some time with us as we tell you her story.

Monsters and Legends

A fun, interactive approach to learning about Bigfoot, Loch Ness, Jersey Devil, Mothman, Frankenstein, Dracula and more. What’s fact, what’s fiction, and what’s unexplainable.  An arts and craft session can be added at the end, by request.

(For our younger audience ages 8 to 10)
